About Us

Dale Lalone has been serving the hearing impaired since 1980. He has had extensive experience in all facets of diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology. In 1981, he established the audiology department for the largest group of otolaryngologists in the state of Maine. The department performed diagnostic evaluations including Auditory Brainstem Response, Electronystagmography and Otoacoustic Emmissions. Hearing aid evaluations and dispensing of conventional and programmable hearing aids were also performed. He has also served on the Board of Hearing Aid Dealers and Fitters from1988-1999 and was the chairman for ten years of his tenure. In 1996, Dale Lalone established Sound Advice Audiology in Portland, Maine and later purchased the North Conway Hearing Center. The office in North Conway is open on wednesdays with the remainder of his time being spent in the Portland location.

At Sound Advice Audiology, products from carefully chosen manufactures are dispensed. Siemens and Phonak hearing aids are the principal products employed.

Siemens has been listening to the hearing impaired for almost a century. One in five hearing aids sold in the world today is manufactured by Siemens. Strict quality control standards and unparralleled service make them a leader in hearing health care. Dale Lalone has served as a consultant to Siemens for many years providing test site data on the pre-released technology. He is currently serving as a training specialist for the programmable hearing aids.

Phonak Hearing Instruments apply Swiss precision to enhance the quality of their products. "Audio Zoom" technology utilizes two microphones to better focus sounds in front while reducing sensitivity to sounds from behind. Multiple listening programs allow adaptation to changing listening environments through programs stored in a remote control memory.

Along with the expertise and cooperation of Audiologists, Engineers, Hearing Health Care Professionals and Physicians, Sound Advice Audiology has developed a reputation for professional commitment, product quality and personal service.
