Inspired by Nature to Look Beautiful, Perform Better

Walking down a country lane, you should be able to experience the beauty of nature even if you close your eyes: You'll hear birds chirping in the trees overhead. Leaves rustling in the breeze. A nearby brook splashing over its rocks.

If you can't appreciate these sounds of nature, you may have a hearing loss.

How do you know if you have a hearing loss? Often, the first sounds which "disappear" are those in the higher frequencies, such as women's and children's voices. Other symptoms of hearing loss include difficulty:

Unfortunately, some people are reluctant to get help for their hearing loss, even though many of them can be helped with hearing aids.

Promising Developments in Hearing Assistance at Sound Advice.

CIC instruments

The precious sounds we hear everyday - from that nature walk in the country to the voices of our loved ones - are the inspiration for the Siemens ILLUSION(tm) line of hearing aids.

These miniature, highly advanced instruments are designed to be small enough to fit completely in the ear canal so they're cosmetically invisible. But with ILLUSION, beauty is only the beginning. Because these hearing aids are worn closer to the eardrum than other models, they complement the hearing process. In fact, research on the deeper location of these hearing aids indicates that they offer many important benefits to the wearer:

Suitable for a wide range of hearing loss.

Thanks to its location and the natural acoustic effect of the outer ear, ILLUSION is suitable for mild to moderately severe hearing loss.

Comfortable and secure fit.

Custom-made from an impression of your ear canal, and resting deep inside, ILLUSION is comfortable to wear. This makes ILLUSION an especially appropriate choice for sports enthusiasts and those with active lifestyles.

And, if you spend much time outdoors, you will also appreciate the fact that the recessed microphone helps minimize annoying wind noise.

More realistic sound.

This secure fit offers another plus: it lessens the experience sometimes encountered when the wearer's voice sounds like it originated in a tunnel or barrel.

Reduced feedback.

Because ILLUSION helps minimize acoustic feedback (whistling of the hearing aid), there should be no need to remove your hearing aid when you use the phone.

Improved directionality.

When ILLUSION hearing aids are worn in both ears, their deep placement along with the natural amplification effect of the outer ear, may help you better determine who's speaking or where a sound originates.

Easy insertion and removal.

If you have a relatively straight ear canal, insertion and removal of ILLUSION should be easier than most in-the-ear and in-the-canal hearing instruments. A gentle tug on the clear, but strong filament attached to the ILLUSION faceplate makes removal simple.

Wearable during sleep.

The secure fit, comfort and reduced acoustic feedback permits ILLUSION to be worn while you sleep, so you can hear better during the night.

Which ILLUSION is for you?

Sound Advice Professionals can determine if an ILLUSION hearing aid is appropriate for your hearing loss and which of the four models is best for you.

ILLUSION MUSIC (tm)

The premium model of the ILLUSION line, the MUSIC is one of the most advanced, digitally programmable CIC hearing instruments available today, representing the culmination of 85 years of technology, leadership and knowledge. MUSIC was created to help provide a more ideal balance of loudness for the wide variety of sounds encountered in every day life. MUSIC provides a fully automated design with no volume control or memory buttons to adjust in a cosmetically appealing CIC package.

While many traditional hearing instruments are rather simple amplifiers magnifying all sounds the same way, MUSIC works by automatically adjusting sounds based on your unique hearing loss. The settings required for optimum sound processing are programmed into the MUSIC IC using a Computer Based Fitting System. This enables Sound Advice Professionals to adjust the hearing instrument for your specific hearing loss.

Properly configured to meet your individual hearing requirements, MUSIC responds almost instantly to different hearing environments by changing the way it processes sound. You don't have to adjust your MUSIC hearing instrument, because MUSIC adjusts itself . . . automatically.

ILLUSION InteliVenience(tm)

Another advanced technology model of the ILLUSION line, the ILLUSION InteliVenience features a unique hybrid circuit which is programmed with a computer to more precisely target your personal hearing loss.

ILLUSION InteliVenience is engineered to process a complete and comfortable range of sounds; all without the inconvenience of adjusting a volume control.

When you are fitted for a programmable ILLUSION InteliVenience, Sound Advice Professionals use special computer software to adjust the hearing aid while it's in your ear. If your hearing changes, or if future adjustments are necessary, your hearing professional will make minor modifications in follow-up visits.

ILLUSION K-AMP

ILLUSION K-AMP also offers "hands-free" volume control, so there's no need to keep reaching up to your ear to reveal you're wearing a hearing aid. That means all you have to do is listen - you don't have to raise the volume when conversing with a child, or lower it in a restaurant. Hearing with ILLUSION K-AMP is virtually effortless!

ILLUSION K-AMP utilizes the same high-tech amplifier used in the InteliVenience, but without the advanced, digitally programmable in-office capability.

ILLUSION Linear D

ILLUSION Linear D is designed for people who prefer to control the volume themselves, such as those who have previously worn a hearing aid and are accustomed to adjusting it. On this model, the clear removal filament also doubles as a volume control allowing you to raise, and lower, the loudness of sounds that are processed.
